Vibrio fortis

This is a bacterial pathogen known to infect fish and a variety of marine invertebrates. The diseases caused by this pathogen vary depending on the host.

V. fortis in reef tanks

This is the fish pathogen we detect most often in reef tank samples.

V. fortis was detected in almost half of the samples we've tested.
This bacterium generally makes up a small fraction of the community (2% or less).
